Jing vs. Camtasia

Of the software I've discussed I prefer Jing and Camtasia (Captivate is pretty cool too).

I would generally use Jing for more "disposable" screencasts/captures and Camtasia for

more long term projects that I'll use over and over.

Jing

 Pros

• Free (for now)
• Easy to use for image and video capture
• Fast for easy sharing via IM/Chat

 Cons

• Flash (swf) only
• 5 minute max
• No editing

Camtasia

 Pro

• Lots of file formats
• Editing possibilities
• Practicaly unlimited recording time

 Con

• $$
• Farily easy to use, but lots of options
